Why it's like The Snow Girl:Echo 3 is a relatively new show that came out on AppleTV+ in 2022. While it's not about a kidnapped child, it is about a missing person. Only this time it's a grown woman who shows that anyone can be missed, not just the kids.
While the star-studded cast of Michiel Huisman, Like Evans, Jessica Ann Collins, Bradley Whitford, and others is quite promising, the show has mixed reviews. I have to admit, I had high hopes for the show and while the first season had its moments, I was pretty disappointed after the finale. It's still worth a watch, and I'm excited to see where season two goes.
9. Sure (2018)
What it is:Tom Delaney (Michael C. Hall) is a widowed surgeon whose teenage daughter has mysteriously disappeared. As he works to unravel the mystery and find his daughter, Tom discovers more than he bargained for. In fact, almost everyone close to him has dark secrets, and all of them could lead to his daughter...
Why it's like The Snow Girl:Snow Girl is about the kidnapping of a three-year-old girl, while Safe is about the disappearance of a teenage girl. However, many similarities can be drawn between the shows, such as the dark secrets of seemingly ordinary people and the struggles of a father trying to find his son.
Michael C. Hall is also exceptional once again, and the show really picked up steam as the episodes progressed. It's not the best show on this list, but it's definitely worth it.

8. Passe (2016)
What it is:Ivy Moxam is a 26-year-old girl who is found lost on the street one day. At first, it looks like he just walked out of a normal house the other day. Problem is, no one has seen Ivy in about thirteen years, ever since she disappeared from school at age 13...
Why it's like The Snow Girl:Although this program is completely fictional,like the snow girl, there's something about the way the story is told that makes it feel very real. You'll wonder many times if it's based on a true story.
Jodie Comer played the role of Ivy Moxam, the kidnapped girl who was held captive for literally half her life before finally managing to escape.
7. A friend of the family (2022)
What it is:The Brobergs are your typical religious suburban family who sought out a guy named Robert, nicknamed B. The twisted individual manipulated the entire family into trusting him when he kidnapped their daughter Jan multiple times, claiming that they loved each other and that she was obsessed with him. .
Why you should watch:I don't want to go into too much detail here, but this story is so twisted and unbelievable that it will have you screaming in rage at the screen. What's worse is that it's entirely based on the true story of a sick and manipulative pedophile who took care of a girl since she was a child and used her parents' secret to do his bidding.

6. Seeking Carter (2014-2015)
What it is:A young woman named Carter Stevens has lived with her family for as long as she can remember, but now accidentally discovers that she was never her family. Instead, Carter learns that she was kidnapped when she was just three years old.
Reunited with her biological family, adjusting to a new life after discovering everything she knew was a lie proved to be more difficult than she could have imagined...
Why it's like The Snow Girl:Like Amaya in The Snow Maiden, Carter was kidnapped when she was just three years old. The difference is that the mother he knew and loved turned out to be her kidnapper.
It's an absolutely heartbreaking story, especially when you see Carter reunited with her original family, only to realize that it's terribly difficult to adjust to a life she should have lived but now feels is completely alien to her.
5. Amber: The Girl Behind the Warning (2023)
What it is:Amber: The Girl Behind The Alert (2023) is a documentary that recently premiered on Peacock and will leave you shocked and grateful at the same time. It's the story of Amber Hagerman, a little girl kidnapped and murdered whose tragic fate inspired the notorious Amber Alert.
While Amber's case remains unsolved after 25 years, Amber Alert has saved over a thousand children since its inception and has at least made sense of their untimely, brutal and tragic deaths...
Why it's like The Snow Girl:The Snow Girl is a fictional story whereas Amber: The Girl Behind The Alert is very real. Still, it revolves around a kidnapped girl, and like The Snow Girl, the mystery runs deep with multiple suspects. It cuts deep into the fabric of society and will leave you absolutely speechless by the end.
4. The Disappeared (2014-2016)
What it is:When a family is on vacation in France, five-year-old Oliver disappears into a large crowd of revelers. It doesn't take long for the family to realize that he has been kidnapped, causing major rifts in the family and leaving the parents completely devastated. Years after the ordeal, there is still hope that Oliver is alive.

Why it's like The Snow Girl:The Missing is one of my favorite entries on this list. It not only talks about the kidnapping itself, but like The Snow Girl, it shows the aftermath and the brutal emotional toll the family pays afterwards. It's a heartbreaking thriller that will make you cry every episode.
3. Moody (2008)
What it is:Based on an incredible true story, Changeling follows Christine Collins (Angeline Jolie), a mother whose son goes missing. LAPD brings her another child and claims it is her child, but she insists the child is an imposter and that she would recognize her child with her eyes closed.
Why it's like The Snow Girl:Both stories deal with child abduction and how the police deal with it. However, this touching true story goes one step further and in half the time; You won't even know if the grieving mother has gone crazy or if she was always right.
It's a very difficult film to watch, but if you ask me, it's the role of a lifetime for Angelina Jolie. One of the best films I've seen on the subject and the true story behind the film gives it a whole new dimension.
2. Prisoners (2013)
What it is:Two little girls disappear at the same time: Keller Dover's little girl and her friend. Dover feels the police aren't doing everything in their power to find the girls, so she takes matters into her own hands and pushes some boundaries that maybe she shouldn't have crossed.
This is the snow girl:You can feel the emotions behind the father struggling with his daughter's disappearance. It's a phenomenal story of kidnapping, love, pain, society and more that will take your breath away. It also features Hugh Jackman AND Jake Gyllenhaal, two of my absolute favorite actors.

Why it's like The Snow Girl:I won't even try to explain what Dark is all about, hence the official synopsis above. All I'm saying is, it starts with the disappearance of two little boys, which is a Netflix foreign original and one of the best shows you'll ever watch. You need to get those brain cells running at a hundred miles an hour, but trust me, it's worth every second of your time!
